About Ute Lemper

Ute Lemper is a singer, actress, composer, author and visual artist whose career has taken her to the world’s leading concert halls, theatres and festivals for more than four decades. Performing in multiple languages, she is internationally recognized for interpreting the works of Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel, Édith Piaf and other great writers and composers, while also creating her own original music, theatre works and recordings.

Throughout her artistic life, she has explored themes of humanity, memory,  justice, love and cultural dialogue.

As a mother herself, Ute Lemper created MOTHERS as a global musical peace project dedicated to the women who nurture, protect and inspire future generations.

Ute Lemper is the creator and author of MOTHERS. The project is designed to be carried by women around the world in their own languages and voices, Ute is not the singer of these versions, but she will sing this song on stage in multiple languages and collaborations in the future.
